Here is what a few people are saying about DIG YOUR JOB, the not-so-serious career handbook.

“I’m astounded by the amount of information in this book. I can see

referring back to this over years; I can see printing out pages to talk

over with people when addressing a problem. It’s a terrifi c resource

for small business people and for people in the workforce.”

  • In general, I couldn't care less about college football. I know! Don't throw anything at me, please. However, I couldn't let this one go by. Seriously! I think that Congress and our future president have much bigger issues to face right now. Economy? Afghanistan? Hamas? Immigration? This seems to be an issue that needs to be driven more by the fans and the conferences. It's a mixed up mess, but the government needs to stay out of it.

  • I don't know that I'd go so far as calling librarians career counselors, but libraries have been offering things like computer classes for years now. This isn't a new development for us. And it seems like for most libraries, these classes are always full with people of all ages, 20 somethings to senior citizens. But in the current economic climate, libraries are seeing increased usage. Job seekers are just one demographic and those people will find some great resources at the library, such as newspapers, test prep books, and knowledgeable staff who can assist them in finding what they need to move ahead.
