Just stuff I find

  • Interesting little piece with some good indicators of possible poor productivity and a few suggestions about what to do. I might try at least a couple of them…particularly the "Do Not Disturb" one when I'm working on something that has a deadline and requires concentration.
  • Adorable pattern for embroidering a cherries fruit towel. This is part of series that has been featured on Tip Nut. It would be a great project for those with a more traditional or vintage kitchen.

  • This is free pattern for a really pretty scarf on the Classic Elite site. The recommended yarn is a lovely cotton/silk blend perfect for warmer weather, but would still work for these cold cold days. I could see this is a nice green, lemon yellow, or sky blue as well. Oh noes! I'm starting to think in pastels!
  • This is from Wild Olive. It's the perfect embroidery pattern for this time of year. Make yourself a little happy snowflake to chase the winter blahs away.

  • There is a PDF downloaded provided of the tutorial for this. It's such a sweet looking and simple little project. Even I could make this despite my limited sewing skills. Maybe I'd be able to find my scissors if I had one of these!

  • This is a fantastic and super-cheap idea for one of those self-watering pots that canb be expensive to buy in stores. All you need is a 2- or 3-liter bottle, some soil, seeds, and a bit of time. It's not exactly hydroponics, but if you're like me and forget to water your plants, this a great idea. Start your own indoor herb garden or get those seedlings going for spring planting.

  • There are some great idea here for things you can do with all those plastic bags we collect from stores. Links provided to tutorials and articles. Learn how to make plastic bag yarn to knit or crochet with. Find out how to fuse bags together to make funky looking totes or clothes.
