Moans and groans

My dog nephew (yes, we’re one of those weird families who consider our animals as part of the family) tends to groan as he lays down. Almost like all the tension goes out of him as relaxes and he has to vocalize it.
Charley seems to have really enjoyed his visit…at least when I’ve been nearby. The main reason he came with me was to see if he’d fit into the household up here. After my brother and SIL’s older died several weeks ago, we offered them Charley to add a second doggy presence to their house again. However, Charley made his wishes well known. He is my dog and is determined to have things remain that way. Although he’s getting along fine with his cousin and has had a great time exploring the fenced backyard, it appears that he knows where he belongs. (Maybe he know from the moment he jumped into my car.)
Except for not having DH along, this has been the perfect visit. Relaxing. Great weather today. Wonderful people to hang out with. Yarn fun. A trip to Trader Joe’s.
Tomorrow I make the long drive back. Tuesday I’ll be back at work. It’s another short week that will be busy with one instruction session, weeding, getting things ready for Composition classes, making a couple more displays, search committee work, and anything else that is sure to pop up as we go along.
