Two newish displays

Posted by: J on: September 25, 2008

The Lincoln Display has been up for a few weeks, but I finally got a picture of it. I still need to add some books. On the other side of the pillar where this one is located will be a display about the Lincoln-Douglas debates.
Next week is Banned Books Week. I just [...]

Fall = Football

Posted by: J on: September 21, 2008

It was a perfect Saturday afternoon for a football game. LittleU won the game. Yay!

Stitches pictures

Posted by: J on: August 27, 2008

These are the few pictures I got before they made an announcement that if you didn’t have permission to take pictures (which I didn’t), you’d be thrown out of the market. And I could not have that happen! *laugh*
PS to the Dishpaw Raggers – The box is now enroute to MT. Yay!

Old schoolhouse

Posted by: J on: August 10, 2008

I love the native stone buildings that you see throughout the Flint Hills. This schoolhouse is on Tuttle Creek Boulevard, which we usually drive to go into town.

My favorite local bookstore…

…is a great used bookstore, The Dusty Bookshelf. It’s dangerous to go in there because I usually come out with a stack of books. But yesterday I was good and only bought an Edward Gorey postcard.

Along the way

Posted by: J on: July 25, 2008

The Summer Institute is over

Posted by: J on: July 25, 2008

Things went well today, I think. The worst thing that happened was they didn’t deliver the potato chips with the lunch sandwiches. Not a big deal. And here are pictures:

Now I’m going to watch Bedknobs and Broomsticks…if I can stay awake.

Having an adventure

Posted by: J on: July 24, 2008

We originally planned to go to the Eisenhower Center in Abilene today, but when we got to the town, we changed our mind and visited the Greyhound Hall of Fame instead. They have two resident retired racers, The Talented Mr. Ripley and Abbey.

I’ve got a FO

Posted by: J on: July 23, 2008

Just finished this little monster tonight. He’ll be on his way to IL tomorrow to his new home.

And here are a couple of pictures from the Oz Museum. Toto willingly posed for the pictures. It’s his official job at the museum. He’s paid in dog treats, of course!
